My parents are potters, so I wanted to include pieces inspired by Chinese porcelain in my first collection. I started by cyanotype dyeing a variety of Chinese papercuts, and built outwards from there. I designed the Teardrop Top based on qipao collars, and really liked the image of a teardrop piercing through the chest to the spine, leading me to the mirrored teardrop cutout. 

This piece is fully lined and hand-dyed.

  • shell: linen, heavy cotton gauze

    lining: rayon challis

  • Contains: cyanotype dye, gutta
